Wat Mahawanaram Royal Temple, วัดมหาวนาราม พระอารามหลวง, also called Wat Pah Yai, วัดป่าใหญ่, is the principal temple
of Ubon Ratachathani. Built in 1807 (B.E. 2350), it houses Phra Chao Yai Indra Plang, พระเจ้าใหญ่-อินทร์แปลง, a large Buddha image in the attitude of subduing Mara. The image is regularly worshipped by people in Ubon and from neighboring provinces.
