Wat Ou Sai Kham, วัดอู่ทรายคำ, is located in Tambon Chang Moi, Mueang Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai Province, Thailand. Wat Ou Sai Kham, วัดอู่ทรายคำ, is more than 300 years old, but was abandoned by the monks because the size of the local village could not support the monastery. It was reconstructed and entered into documentation in 1841 C.E. (2384 B.E.). Before the original construction more than 300 years ago, there was evidence of this being a former temple site because a small chedi was found. When construction was started, the small chedi was encased in the larger chedi now standing behind the main building (vihar or Wihan). It is believed that the name Ou Sai Kham came from a lady who donated the land where the temple now stands. She came from Chiang San (now a district of Chiang Rai Province). She provided funds for the construction of the religious buildings on the temple compound. Wat Ou Sai Kham means "Temple of Golden Sand". วัดอู่ทรายคำ อยู่ตำบลช้างม่อยเมืองเชียงใหม่จังหวัดเชียงใหม่ประเทศไทย วัดอู่ทรายคำ ตั้งอยู่เลขที่ ๒๔ ถนนชัางม่อเก่า ตำบลชัางม่อย อำเภอเมืองเชียงใหม่ จังหวัดเชียงใหม่ สร้างโดยอุบาสิกา อุปคำ ซึ่งได้อพยพมาจาก เมืองเชียงแสน (เชัยงราย) อันเน่องมาจากสงคราม จีงมาตั้งบ้านเรือนบริเวณนี้ ได้พร้อมใจกันสร้างวัดขี้น เพื่อเป็นอนุสรณ์แห่งความศรัทธา ในบสรพระพุทธศาสนา และ ถวายเป็นพุทธบูชาแด่ องค์พระบรมศาสดา ด้วยความเครพยิ่ง วัดอู่ทรายคำ สร้างขึ้นก่อน พ.ศ. ๒๓๘๔ ได้รับพระราชทานวิสูงคามสีมา วันที่ ๑๐ มีนาคม ๒๔๖๔ มีเมิ้อที่ ๑ ไร่ ๒ งาน ๘๙ ตารางวา เสนาสนะที่สำคัญ พระเจดิบ์สร้างก่อน พ.ศ. ๑๒๘๔ พระประธานสร้าง พ.ศ. ๒๓๘๙ พระอุโบสถร้าง พ.ศ. ๒๔๒๗ หอไตรสร้าง พ.ศ. ๒๔๕๒ พระสิงห์หยก ขนาด ๒๙ นิ้ว สร้าง พ.ศ. ๒๕๔๖ บรรจุพระบรมสารีริกธาตุ ณ ประตูท่าแพ วันที่ ๓๑ กรกฎาคม พ.ศ. ๒๕๔๗ พระสิงห์หยก๒ ขนาด ๒๕ นิ้ว และ ๒๐ นิ้ว สร้าง พ.ศ. ๒๕๔๙ บรรจุพระบรมสารีริกธาตุ พ.ศ. ๒๕๔๙ ณ วัดอู่ทรายคำ Wikimapia location |
