2006 Photograph, Ebony Jewelwing Damselfly (Calopteryx (Agrion) maculata, Jewelwing Damselflies Family Calopterygidae) male, Fairfax Villa Park, Virginia, © 2018.
This damselfly is usually found along smaller wooded streams.  The female is brownish and has a white stigma or pterostigma (a distinctive cell near the tip of a damselfly or dragonfly's wing).
