Chofah are common elements of the roof design of Thai temple buildings. They represent a stylized bird and can range from a fairly accurate depiction of a bird to a very simplified form such as the one you can see on the Phra Ubosot roof peak. It is not often that you will see a elephant-faced bird as in these examples. But no matter what the design, pigeons consider them good roosting spots. |
