Wat Khao Suwankhiri, วัดเขาสุวรรณคีรี, is built on the highest point of a ridge of hills that runs through Si Satchanalai. The temple consists of two large bell-shaped chedi, a main wihan as well as a smaller wihan behind the chedi to the south. The main chedi sits on a square five-tiered base. This site is largely overgrown with trees after having been cleared at one time. It shows, to some extend, how these temple ruins in Si Satchanalai town and in Sukhothai town looked before they were cleared of the overgrowth. Wikipedia article in Thai Wikimapia location |
