2006 Photograph, Crane-fly Orchid (Tipularia discolor, Orchid Family, Orchidaceae) leaves, one of our native orchids found in rich deciduous woods, Fairfax Villa Park, Fairfax, Virginia, © 2014.
A bit of FYI from your friendly naturalist:  These leaves are only seen from late fall through late Summer.  When the orchid flowers, there is just the floral stem and nothing else to be seen.  This photograph was taken in March and the flowers bloom in August.
